A decade of appointments, specialists, and a gap that shouldn't have existed.
Even the best doctors can only work with what they're given — and we worked with some very good doctors. But providing all of them with consistent, accurate information, all of the time, is harder than it sounds. In an emergency, you're not always thinking clearly about every medication and the best way to summarise a medical history — especially when there's a pile of drugs and a decade of illness. Between appointments, details blur. And without realising it, different specialists end up working from different pictures. Not everyone has all the facts, all of the time — not because of any specific failure, just because keeping everyone informed, about everything, all of the time, can be genuinely more difficult than it has to be.
That's why I built Sympt. To solve exactly these problems — including the simple reality that the moment you most need to record something is often the moment you're least able to.
What struck me most was how often one specialist simply didn't know what another had done. Each clinician doing their job well — but none of them seeing the whole board. I built Sympt because it didn't exist, and it should have. Not a complex platform. Just a simple, honest record — easy enough to keep through the hard days, clear enough to hand to any doctor in any room.
When symptoms hit, the last thing you want is to document them. But even a simple record of what happened and when gives your doctors something real to work with. Memory alone rarely does — details blur, timing fades. That matters even more when you're seeing multiple specialists, or find yourself in an unplanned hospital visit.
Sympt's one-tap logging can make all the difference.
One tap from your iPhone or Apple Watch. You don't need to describe it perfectly — just mark that it happened. Add more detail after if you wish.
Sympt's PDF reports give every member of a patient's medical team the same clear, consistent record — however straightforward or complex their situation.
